Is it possible that we're going to rapidly exhaust the possibility for meaningful market inefficiencies?

Baseball caught up to Billy Beane in valuing on-base percentage. And also on college talent. And then there was a market inefficiency favoring selection of HS talent. I think we're at stasis on that front.

Then we hit the market inefficiencies on defense. Perhaps injury prevention is the next big thing.

But at a certain point, analysis will be pretty darn thorough in evaluating the key ingredients of the game: getting on base, hitting for power, pitching, defense, and injury prevention. Certain factors--you mentioned nutrition, for example--seem to me to be so marginal that they won't be able to compensate for the big markets' ability to pay for the other stuff.
