I wouldn’t be SUPER upset with Arrieta but I can see a deal like that going south in a hurry too.

My preference would be for the Brewers to go all out in a trade for an ace like Chris Archer, sign another bottom of the rotation starter like Chatwood to a 1-year deal if possible, and then go out and get at least 2 quality setup guys for the bullpen. This would be a good way to bolster the current roster without costing us too much salary in future years.

I also wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to getting someone like Lance Lynn at a more affordable price.
