Prospect of the Day: LHP Wei-Chung Wang, Helena
It has been an unorthodox journey for Wang. He jumped from rookie ball in the Pirates’ organization to the big-leagues with the Brewers last year, where he rarely pitched. He landed on the disabled list with an injury in 2014, too, which proved to be quite convenient for the Brewers in their effort to retain his rights. After all the drama of 2014, Wang returned to High-A to re-start his minor-league development in the right way. The early returns in 2015 were frightful; however, the lefty now owns a 2.03 ERA in four June starts — including back-to-back scoreless outings over 15.2 innings.
